Rewind 5 years...Pregnant with my first child.

Eating what I wanted because I thought, “I will bounce back.” 

Oh how reality hit me in the face hard after I had my daughter. Bounce back?! What a dream world I had been living in.

I had gained 12kg (almost 2 stone), I felt out of whack, drained constantly and like I had no control over my body anymore.

I didn’t exercise for almost 2 years, I ate whatever I could to stop the hunger and I munched my way through breast feeding.

I had completely lost who I was pre child.

I became a single parent and knew I needed to change. I had lost all my confidence, I lived in baggy clothes and stretchy leggings and I felt down most days.

This wasn’t the mum I wanted to be.

Having a child changed my goals. I wanted to be Evie’s (my daughter) inspiration. I want to be in her life for as long as I can. Show her that anything is possible if you work hard enough for it.

Queue, getting myself a coach.

The best decision I made.

Energy levels increased, confidence hit an almighty high, the pregnancy weight went and more. I felt the sexiest, most confident version of myself I had EVER been!

Now here is the truth. It was hard! I had highs and lows with my weight loss journey. Sleepless nights made a dieting phase really tough.

My progress may have taken longer than those who don't have children.

However, I learnt so much along the way. I did the whole process with Evie in tow. As a single mother, I had no option. I quickly realised that making time for me was incredibly important as it had a direct impact on Evie. The more I looked after my own physical and mental health, the more energy I had for Evie, my patience grew and I felt like I was able to parent better.

Our bond grew stronger.

If you don’t look after you, who does? Who will be there to look after your babies if you are sick?

The phrase you hear on the airplane “put your oxygen mask on before helping others” applies to day to day life. Look after yourself in order to look after others.

Your children feed off of your energy.
